The controller of your personal data is Cyrille Varin, as publisher of the App and associated website.

2. Purpose of this policy

This policy describes how personal data is collected and processed when you use Pump Me and, where relevant, the site pump-me.cyrillevarin.com, in line with the UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018 (where applicable to UK residents) and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) for users in the EEA, as well as French law where applicable to the controller.

3. Data collected

Depending on features you enable and how you use the App, we may process in particular:

• Technical and usage data: device or installation identifiers, anonymised error logs, local preferences (theme, language, fuel filters, vehicles stored on device).
• Location: when you allow it, approximate or precise position to show nearby stations and compute distances or routes. You can deny or revoke this in system settings.
• Account / authentication: if account or sign-in features exist (including anonymous modes), account identifier, email if you provide it.
• Alerts or cloud sync: if you use price alerts, cloud backup or messaging (e.g. Firebase), data needed for those services (user id, alert rules, push tokens where applicable).
• Content you send: reports, support messages, optional contributions.

The App is not intended to collect special-category data under the GDPR/UK GDPR. Please do not send such information via support or forms.

4. Purposes

• Providing and improving the service (prices, maps, lists, filters, estimates, widgets).
• User support and responding to requests.
• Security, abuse prevention, debugging and aggregated usage statistics where appropriate.
• Legal obligations and defending legal rights.
• Notifications (price alerts) only on the basis of your consent or another lawful basis clearly described in the App.

5. Legal bases

• Contract / pre-contract: delivering the service you request.
• Consent: where required (e.g. precise location, optional marketing notifications if ever offered, non-essential cookies on the website).
• Legitimate interests: security, product improvement, technical measures, unless your rights override.
• Legal obligation: where the law requires processing.

6. Recipients and processors

Website hosting: the site pump-me.cyrillevarin.com is hosted by IONOS SE (Montabaur, Germany). Mobile app data may also pass through the other providers listed below.

Data may be shared with technical providers strictly necessary for hosting, usage analytics, maps (e.g. mapping APIs if keys are configured), cloud databases / authentication (e.g. Google Firebase), or push notifications. They process data on instructions and in compliance with applicable data protection law.

Public or open data (fuel prices) comes from third-party sources; accuracy depends on official publishers.

7. Transfers outside the UK / EEA

Some providers may be located outside the UK or EEA. Where required, appropriate safeguards apply (standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or other recognised mechanisms).

8. Retention

Data is kept only as long as needed for the purposes described:

• Account and preference data: while the account is active or until you delete it, plus a reasonable technical backup period.
• Support data: as long as needed to handle the request, then limited archiving if legally required.
• Technical logs: limited duration (e.g. a few months) unless a legal obligation or dispute requires longer retention.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability and withdrawal of consent for consent-based processing.

You may lodge a complaint with the ICO in the UK (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority in the EEA (e.g. CNIL in France: cnil.fr).

10. Security

Appropriate technical and organisational measures are used to protect data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure or unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure; please keep your device updated and protect your accounts.

11. Children

The App is not directed at children under 15 in a targeted way. If you are a parent and believe a child has sent us data, contact us so we can delete it where possible.

12. Cookies and website

The site pump-me.cyrillevarin.com may use strictly necessary cookies or, with your consent, audience measurement. Browser settings and banners help you manage choices in line with applicable rules.

13. Changes
